Growing Dance for Young Audiences

The current SDD 26 selection highlights an ongoing conversation within the Swiss dance scene: how can we strengthen the creation and presentation of work for young audiences? In Switzerland, only a few artists and companies produce regularly for this audience, and opportunities to present such work remain limited. What do artists and programmers need to develop this field — more exchange, expertise, venues, or funding? This short session invites reflection, dialogue, and partnership between the Swiss dance community and ASSITEJ, aiming to inspire new connections and initiatives.

With different perspectives from choreography, curation, Switzerland, and abroad, as well as different styles, three dance professionals discuss the relevance of their work for young audiences.

Regina Rossi (choreographer and performer), Teresa Rotemberg (choreographer, director, and head of Junges Theater Luzern), and Ariana Qizmolli (dancer and choreographer) come together in an exchange with the audience.
