Discussion

Culture as Resistance – Resistance as Culture

In a time when conservative ideologies and nationalist forces are gaining strength across the globe, culture remains one of the few spaces where resistance, dialogue, and transformation are still possible. How can we, as cultural practitioners, stand up to dominant political, ideological, and economic currents? How can we advocate for equality, diversity, and justice through our work? What specific tools and methods can the performing arts scene offer in shaping alternative futures?
This panel brings together performing arts professionals from the Balkans - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia. It shares personal experiences and artistic practices, and explores strategies for sustaining critical and creative engagement in challenging political and social contexts.

The  Swiss Dance Days audience is invited to join in and collectively imagine visionionary approaches for resistance and solidarity across borders.

This panel discussion is organized by artlink, operator of Südkulturfonds.
