Delgado Fuchs

DOS

«DOS», which could have been called «Lovebirds» or «Los dos fantasticos» explores the necessity of the link and makes the body the territory of the relation. The stage becomes an observation ring where the two artists play with their dissonant bodies in an assembly of shifted combinations. Sometimes they touch or caress each other with brotherly candor. They do not speak but hum an inarticulate language. Delgado Fuchs displace their usual binomial for a new tandem between Marco Delgado, dancer, and Valentin Pythoud, acrobat carrier. The complicit movements of these two performers swell with intensity on the backdrop of a hit by Erkin Koray, a hairy superstar of 1970s Anatolian rock, adding a touch of psychedelia to the ambient instability. Marco Delgado and Valentin Pythoud become their own heroes, from the improbable to the obvious.

Biography

The collective Delgado Fuchs was founded in 2002 by Marco Delgado and Nadine Fuchs and has been based in Lausanne since 2011. Marco Delgado trained at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. Nadine Fuchs began her training at the Swiss Professional School of Ballet in Zurich, continued her studies in Geneva (Ballet Junior) and completed them at the École Rudra Béjart in Lausanne. She has danced with various groups such as Cie Nomades, Bern Ballet, Cie Alias and Arthur Kuggeleyn.
In 2014 they co-founded the label «A Normal Working Day» together with Zimoun, a purposefully polymorphous, interdisciplinary meta-project. With Delgado Fuchs and «A Normal Working Day», the two of them have produced more than 20 artistic works taking the form of shows, performances and visual installations, which have been presented at theatres, festivals and museums all over the world. Their creations occupy the interface between dance and visual art, playing with absurdity, humour, ambiguity and transgression.
