From 6 to 9 February 2019 in Lausanne, the 10th Swiss Dance Days had showcased the winning performances selected by the jury from over 150 entries. The programme offered a snapshot of the trends that are currently inspiring Swiss choreographers and dancers.

When, where and how do we have fun? What is the goal of our fun? And why are laughter and fun doomed to fail? In search of answers to these questions five performers find themselves in a fabulous amusement park, arguing over who will be employee of the month. «Happiness: that’s our business!» Everything is a pretext for play: the costumes, sets, acoustic loops and make-up. Pleasure is everywhere in a stunning landscape of bodies in rotation, of magic, jokes and masquerade. In a poetic staging that constantly evolves between desire, euphoria, fear and nostalgia, «FUN!» abounds with gestural dexterity and contagious physicality. By creating a topography out of an amusement park in which choreographic movement is the motivating force behind the fun, Lea Moro explores the mechanisms of contemporary entertainment along with its sources, potential and contradictions.
Lea Moro (Zurich/Berlin) is a performer and choreographer trained at the Dimitri School, Trinity LABAN in London and HZT in Berlin. Mixing audacity and insouciance, while drawing from canonical works and genres, her work is based on the construction of affective situations that swing between illusion, humour and ambiguity. Projects such as «Le Sacre du Printemps, a ballet for a single body» (2013/14) and «(b)reaching stillness» (2015) were presented internationally. Lea Moro is a recipient of a DanseWEB grant (2014), an Elsa-Neumann grant (2015), the PAP Mentorat (2014-2016) as well as a Werkstipendium (2017) and a Culture Prize Incentive Grant (2018) from the canton of Zurich.
