From 6 to 9 February 2019 in Lausanne, the 10th Swiss Dance Days had showcased the winning performances selected by the jury from over 150 entries. The programme offered a snapshot of the trends that are currently inspiring Swiss choreographers and dancers.

Simone Aughterlony & Jen Rosenblit
Hooks, rope, chains, pliers. Between underground encounters and ordinary domestic tasks, Simone Aughterlony and Jen Rosenblit imagine an abrasive performance that encourages cracks and leaks inside its own architecture while maintaining a complex relationship with order. A freestanding wall, a roaming kitchen island and bodies in decomposition create a disruptive ecology that demands constant readjustment. The objects and the multitude of ways in which they may be used are impervious to what or who should grab on to them. A chair is hoisted in the air, a ladder, bones, witches in situ, skins, and room temperature grapefruit zest… All to the rhythmic sorcery of Miguel Gutierrez and Colin Self. With «Everything Fits In The Room» it is no longer necessary to get rid of elements that might suspend or delay the on-going process. It’s curious to see how everything will fit.
Simone Aughterlony
Supported by the cities of Zurich and Berlin, Simone Aughterlony works predominately in dance and performance contexts. For more than fifteen years she has been conceiving and producing choreographic works that play with representation and saturation and embrace a phenomenology of misrecognition and the absurd. After «Supernatural» (2015) and «Biofiction Trilogy» (2016-2018) - which continue to tour in Europe and the United States - her next production «Maintaining Stranger» will be coproduced by Gessnerallee in February 2019.
Jen Rosenblit
An Insel Hombroich fellow (2013) and recipient of a Bessie Award for Dance and Performance (2014) and a Guggenheim Fellowship (2018), Jen Rosenblit brings seemingly impossible architecture, bodies and ideas to the stage. After «Clap Hands» (2016) and «Swivel Spot» (2017), her next piece «I'm Gonna Need Another One» is being coproduced by the Sophiensaele (DE) and the Chocolate Factory (NYC).
